Since elementary school, I knew that I wanted to be a doctor.  My childhood pediatrician seemed to always be able to figure out what was wrong and be able to make me feel better- I wanted to be just like him.

With that goal loosely in mind, I attended Bucknell University, majoring in both Biology and Comparative Humanities.  Those classes and my time volunteering at several local hospitals helped me realize that the best way to combine my interests in science and people was truly a career in medicine.  So, I packed my bags, and headed south for medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in sunny Bradenton, Florida.

Although the beach is great, I missed my family and the change of season in Upstate New York, so I returned to Albany Medical Center for residency.  I was almost ready to stop my medical training because I loved the way that you can really get to know your patients in primary care.  However, an incredible mentor showed me that in hematology/oncology, you can  build the same sort of relationships, while also implementing the newest, groundbreaking, and life-changing research.

I moved back to Allentown, Pennsylvania to complete my hematology/oncology fellowship at Lehigh Valley Health Network.  My experience there provided me with a broad training in both common and uncommon cancers and blood disorders.

I am now very excited to bring those experiences with me to HOA and Central New York.  My husband and I are very eager to be moving our family closer to grandparents.  We cannot wait for our first big snow storm!  In my free time, I enjoy cooking, gardening, and reading.
