I always wanted to go into the medical field for as long as I could remember. I graduated from radiation therapy school at SUNY Upstate Medical Center where I worked as a radiation therapist for thirteen years. I fell in love with this field of medicine and yearned to learn more. Slowly I began to realize that I wanted to be more involved in the decision making process for patient management, which could only be done as a physician. I therefore pursued a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology at SUNY Binghamton and then attended medical school locally at SUNY Upstate Medical Center. As a medical student, I had the opportunity to experience various specialties during my clinical rotation but had decided to go into Radiation Oncology because of the high level of patient contact.

As a resident, I quickly realized I had made the right decision. During training I was involved in the treatment of a twelve-year-old girl with a serious form of cancer. Due to the nature of her treatments, the patient, family and I formed a lasting bond and to this day I still hear from her even though I no longer see her professionally. This is just one example of the depth of relationship that can be formed in this field.

I come from a big Italian family, so family is very important to me. HOA feels like a family to me. The people working for this company really care about their patients and each other. This is unique to HOA. When you are here, you feel like you are part of something bigger. The Board of Directors, our CEO, and all our staff have the same goal, which is to give the best treatment to each patient in a caring way.
