Lung Cancer Specialists in Central New York

Lung cancer is caused by abnormal cells growing out of control and forming tumors in the lungs, sometimes spreading beyond the lungs. The two main types of lung cancer are non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC). NSCLC is the most common, accounting for 80 to 85 percent of cases, while SCLC accounts for 10 to 15 percent.

Lung cancer treatment is typically led by a medical oncologist who recommends a plan based on the type of lung cancer, its stage, and its location in the lung or other parts of the body
