If you were diagnosed with skin cancer, it is important to understand your diagnosis, staging, and treatment options. It is often initially treated by a dermatologist who will remove it and send it for testing to see if cancer cells are present. Many early-stage, small skin cancers only need to be removed with no further treatment. However, if it has grown into deeper layers of skin or is a large area, it’s a good idea to also discuss your diagnosis with an oncologist.
