Reflecting on my journey to becoming a physician, I find that it is a path woven with diverse motivations, experiences, and a profound sense of purpose. The decision to embark on this path wasn't a singular event but rather an evolution shaped by various influences.

One of the core driving forces behind my choice was an innate desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. The prospect of contributing to the well-being of individuals, alleviating their suffering, and being a source of support during vulnerable moments resonated deeply with me. The empathy cultivated through personal experiences, both in witnessing the struggles of loved ones and facing health challenges myself, fueled my commitment to the medical profession.

A fascination with the intricacies of science and the human body also played a pivotal role. The continuous quest for knowledge, the joy of unraveling the mysteries of biology, and the intellectual challenges presented by medicine provided a compelling foundation for my journey. The dynamic nature of the field, coupled with the opportunity for lifelong learning, has been a constant source of inspiration.

Choosing to specialize in pulmonary and critical care medicine is a decision that stemmed from a combination of personal motivations, professional aspirations, and experiences. While I can't speak of a specific reason, below are several factors that have influenced my decision:

  • Interest in complex physiology
  • Desire to make an impact in critical situations
  • Passion for challenging cases
  • Interest in lung cancer and thoracic pathology
  • Commitment to advancing medical knowledge
  • Influence of Mentors and Role Models
  • Desire for a diverse work environment
  • Impact of Personal Experiences, including with family, friends, and my own health.

I am happy to enhance my clinical impact on Central New York as part of the Thoracic Care Program at Hematology-Oncology Associates of CNY.
