HOA meets rigorous quality standards for Radiation Oncology and received accreditation from the American Society for Radiation Oncology’s (ASTRO) APEx - Accreditation Program for Excellence® in 2022

Accreditation through APEx is a voluntary and rigorous multi-step process during which a facility’s practices are evaluated using consensus-based standards. A facility must demonstrate its safety and quality processes and that it adheres to patient-centered care by promoting effective communication, coordinated treatments and strong patient engagement.

HOA's ACR accreditation for all Diagnostics has been in effect since 2009

The CT Accreditation Program involves submission of clinical and phantom images, dose measurements and scanning protocols. Accreditation is required for providers that bill for CT, MRI, breast MRI, nuclear medicine and PET under part B of the MPFS.

HOA is the only QOPI Certified Cancer Center in Central New York

Oncologists can achieve certification by demonstrating practice consistent with the highest standards of care. The seal designates those practices that not only scored high on the key QOPI quality measures, but meet rigorous safety measures established by American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).
