My journey to becoming a physician began right here in Central New York.  Growing up in the Jamesville-DeWitt School District, I enjoyed studying biology and was active in athletics and the arts.  My volunteer work with organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club was especially rewarding to me.  I attended college at Cornell University and majored in Human Biology, Health and Society, a multidisciplinary major focusing on both basic science and the psychosocial aspects of health.  This broad education helped me realize the possibilities a career in medicine would provide.

True to form, I continued my medical education here in Syracuse, receiving my M.D. at Upstate Medical University.  I then pursued my residency in Internal Medicine at Upstate and had the honor of being named Chief Resident.  During my training, I received awards for excellence in scholarship, leadership, and humanism.  These experiences allowed me to fully appreciate that working closely with people in need is what drew me to medicine in the first place.  As I contemplated further specialty training, Hematology and Oncology was a natural fit, and my decision to pursue a fellowship was soon set in motion at Upstate.  Although my formal training is complete, my journey continues with a group of outstanding professionals.  I feel privileged to be part of such a highly regarded group of medical providers and staff at HOA.  They are committed to offering the best treatment and support to patients throughout the Central New York region.  I look forward to following their tradition of providing high quality, compassionate care.

I am grateful for the opportunity to spend my career in Upstate New York.  My husband and I are fortunate to have our loving and supportive parents nearby to share the joy of raising our children.  When I am not working, I enjoy cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
