Welcome to the Hematology-Oncology Associates of CNY service information page. We are the premier providers of cancer care in a private, medical group practice setting. Our mission is to provide the highest level of quality care in a healing environment for the mind, body and spirit of patients dealing with cancer and blood disorders. Our goal is to offer the highest level, state of the art technology and treatments, while meeting the emotional needs of patients and their families. We are dedicated to finding new and more effective treatments for cancer through clinical research. Since 1986, working in conjunction with the National Cancer Institute Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP), our staff and patients have had the opportunity to contribute to the prevention and improvement of cancer care in our community and in the nation, as well.
Our Brittonfield Parkway, state of the art, comprehensive cancer center offers outpatient treatments and support services that include: chemotherapy and radiation; ambulatory infusion; laboratory services; clinical research; a physician office pharmacy; a boutique that is oriented towards minimizing the physical aspects of cancer; patient and family counseling and support services; dietary assessment and nutritional counseling; community referrals, community educational programs and access to complimentary therapies, such as Reiki, acupuncture and massage therapy. Provided by Medical Imaging Centers of Central New York, the facility also houses a state of the art, comprehensive imaging center that includes PET and CT scanning. GYN Oncology of CNY, the Komen Foundation and New Beginnings Healthcare are also located within the facility.
A 13,000 square foot comprehensive cancer center adjacent to Community-General Hospital commenced operations in February of 2006. This site offers a complete array of Hematology and Medical Oncology and Radiation services that include: radiation therapy, pharmacy, lab, clinical research, CT Scanning, infusion, nutritional counseling, and psychosocial support. In the future, it is our intention to add complementary therapies to this menu of services. This site is also home to the Varian Clinac iX, the most advanced model of linear accelerator available to date. It’s used for Radiation treatments and can provide IMRT/IGRT therapy. This Image Guided Radiation Therapy employs robotics and computerized technology to administer radiation with the highest level of precision and accuracy, while simultaneously rendering minimum damage to any surrounding tissue that is healthy.
We continue to offer limited Medical Oncology and Radiation services at our other satellite offices at Medical Center West in Camillus and in Rome, NY
